Global Sales & BD Director (f/m/x)

Vaccines - autogenous & commercial


The primary purpose of this position is to continue to grow the vaccines business on a global scale, as well as to build up the structures and teams accordingly to support the growth strategy.

  • Develop medium- to long-term sales plans (prioritize countries/regions) and prepare strategies to protect, grow and diversify the relationship with targeted customers
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales budgets for markets and territories in cooperation with the sales team
  • Develop and implement strategies to leverage global sales plans, territory plans and sales process to promote growth together with the sales team
  • Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Research and analyze industry and competitive trends to better provide full service to the customer pricing research and strategy, including network cost/pricing and competitor analysis, while evaluating the economic value of products
  • Access customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and/or solutions to meet sales targets/support the growth strategy
  • Resolve problems while ensuring customers receive high-quality customer service
  • Facilitate cross-business unit initiatives and maintain sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, supporting, and training employees
  • Coordinate consistent training on products and sales tools to ensure sales force effectiveness
  • Ensure sales results by motivating, counseling, and discipline (as needed)
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, seminars, trainings and establishing personal networks, as well as participating in professional societies
  • Meet product margins by identifying market strategies, analyzing industry trends, understand customer needs, and providing the customer solution.

  • Strong sales leadership track record (>5 years) in the international animal health vaccine industry, preferably in autogenous and commercial vaccines
  • Ideal: University Degree in Veterinary Medicine
  • Advanced expertise in inspiring, leading, managing, and developing multicultural sales teams (direct and indirect) with the focus to drive results
  • Excellent command of English (written/spoken) and German; Other language skills are appreciated
  • Guidance and management abilities along with social and motivational skills
  • Proven financial acumen and the capacity to evaluate and influence outcomes
  • Strong vaccines network and business development skills
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to understand customer challenges
  • Capable of making decisions under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
  • Organizational capabilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks according to need in a calm and dedicated manner.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others while displaying a can-do attitude
  • Successful project management background with the capacity to work across functional stakeholders
  • Able to distribute a maintained constant development and solution-oriented mindset
  • Gifted to distill complex issues and ideas down to simple comprehensible terms

The attractive annual gross salary for this position includes an additional performance-related bonus and a willingness to overpay according to your qualifications and experience.
