Diploma Thesis: Development of advanced control algorithm for genset speed control

We offer a Diploma Thesis:
Development of advanced control algorithm for genset speed control using Sliding Mode ControlTASKS
- Analysis of engine control system for genset application (with available plant model & simulation environment)
- Definition of control objective, requirements and boundary conditions together with your AVL supervisor
- Selection of appropriate control plant model and evaluation of control model uncertainty
- Control model generation and parameter estimation of approximated model
- Design of the Control system, based on chosen approximate model using the Sliding Mode Control approach
- Performance validation and benchmark (to existing controller) test based on appropriate test cases
- Robustness Analysis and Control Optimization within the uncertainty conditions (Model uncertainties, disturbances,…)
- Documentation and presentation of the results as well as short training of engineers on control model and controller parametrization workflow
- Control Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineer or a similar filed of study with focus and interest on control engineering
- General knowledge of control theory and knowledge in Matlab/Simulink tool
- Technical knowledge in engine and powertrain systems beneficial
- You like to perform your master thesis within an innovative team and you are highly motivated to solve complex control problems
- Interested to bring theoretical background knowledge into practice
- Good communication skills and English knowledge
- Teamwork skills as well as ability to work independently on challenging technical topics
Remuneration: The successful completion of the thesis is remunerated with a one-time fee of EUR 2,600 before tax.
According to the Austrian Employment of Foreign Nationals Act it is unfortunately not possible to assign graduate work to third-country citizens (Non-EU citizens) who study at a university abroad.
